What we need is Here, Wendell Berry
Geese appear high over us,
pass, and the sky closes. Abandon,
as in love or sleep, holds
them to their way, clear
in the ancient faith: what we need
is here. And we pray, not
for new earth or heaven, but to be
quiet in heart, and in eye,
clear. What we need is here.

"Be quiet in heart" - the phrase from the poem Geese - today marked the second time I've heard that particular phrase in four days. The word "here" has special meaning to me. I need to continually remind myself to be present, to be quiet in heart, and to be thankful in the present moment, to enjoy the now. This poem reminded me again today in such a lovely way. Here and now is all I have and all I need.
